In a hidden spot on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire lies a stunning family estate on top of a hill overlooking the Solent near Lymington. Here live this beautiful family who invited me to come and document their easy-going, fun loving family relationship between Mum, Dad and three teenagers. They have such a wonderful bond and to capture it on camera with a family portrait photography session, at a time when family life flies by, was a real treat for me. We messed about in their vintage Land Rover, hung out in their shepherds hut, played croquet on the lawn and walked through the long sandy grass. The stuff dreams are made of. As an at-home family photographer, I often visit families at their main homes and holiday homes throughout Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset and neighbouring counties.
This article reflects my approach as a commissioned portrait photographer working at the intersection of fine art, family legacy, and bespoke portraiture. My work is built around private portrait commissions for individuals, couples, and families who want more than a photograph; they want a lasting work of personal significance. Across every commission, I focus on psychological presence, refined lighting, careful composition, and an experience designed to produce portraits with emotional depth and long-term value.
