contemporary womens portraits
the light that shines.
All women deserve to feel good about themselves and have some stylish portraits that show us at our absolute best. Images to enjoy now, images to look back on when we are older, images that we can pass on to the next generation.
I adore photographing women for how it changes the way they see and feel about themselves. So rarely do you get to shrug off the mantle of daily life and feel special and I believe that showing you through gorgeous imagery how other people see you is something every woman deserves to experience - how naturally beautiful you really are. Although I do a lot of boudoir photography, I appreciate that not every woman wants to be photographed in that style, so this contemporary portrait style bridges that gap perfectly.
Let me treat you by capturing some authentic portraits to let your gorgeousness and personality shine through. It's a legacy you will treasure as life's chapters fly past.
I needed to feel good about myself. I really wanted some glamorous images that show me at my best at a stage in my life when I often feel very much less than that. Boudoir isn't really my 'thing' and this was the perfect alternative. Gemma just knew how to bring out the best in me and I now have some images I'm so proud of. It was a treat well worth it and I'd do it again tomorrow.
How will your session work?
Drop me a line and let me know what ideas you have for a portrait session and we'll look for a suitable date in the diary. I only have a limited number of Saturday sessions and these get booked up often months in advance, so best to bear this in mind when looking at your calendar. Please note I don't work on Sundays.
We'll touch base via Zoom or email a couple of weeks before the shoot to plan the finer details of our shoot. This is an ideal opportunity to discuss styling ideas and clothing based on where we will do the shoot and I can let you know what to expect and bring on the day. If you're local, we'll also arrange a viewing date approximately 2 weeks after the shoot for you to come to the studio to view and order your images. If you are further afield I will put the images onto an online gallery for you to select from.
Day of the shoot
Finally say hello in person and catch up over coffee & biscuits or even a glass of fizz. While you have your makeup done we will look through some of my imagery and plan your 'looks' for the shoot, aiming for 3 -4 different outfits. You can also see examples of the beautiful handmade linen-bound albums and bespoke frames you would like to present your images in. We'll spend three or so unhurried hours photographing and I will guide you into the most flattering angles and light to show you at your best. It's only natural to feel a little daunted but I'll do my best to make you feel relaxed and we'll have lots of fun along the way.
After the shoot
I will prepare the images from our shoot with care, selecting the best images to process ready for you to choose from at our viewing session or your online gallery. There will usually be around 30 images from your session to choose from but this of course depends on what we captured on the day.
The viewing session
If you are local, we will have booked a viewing session around 2 weeks after our shoot where I welcome you to the studio to view your lovely images and choose how to present them. You can see and feel the beautiful linen-bound albums and handmade bespoke frames and see layouts of how your favourite images would look on the walls of your home. This is the ideal time to place your order where I can answer all your questions and finalise choices in person. There is a 10% discount on all orders placed at the viewing session.
Once I have your final choices I will get everything underway with the industry-leading labs and frame makers I use. It usually takes 4-6 weeks from placing your order and I will happily hand deliver your products to local addresses or arrange a courier service if you are further afield for an additional charge.
